What I Ate Wednesday: California Tripping

Hello Darlings!

This past weekend I had a ball out in San Francisco and San Jose California with a couple of friends from my Boston College and high school days- both of which I hadn’t seen in ages! As it goes on pretty much any vacation, I ate really well. And while I could have been a bit better at snapping all of my meals, I have quite a few delicious pictures to show you- so I will let them speak for themselves.

I flew in to San Francisco late Thursday night and Friday morning this cream cheese, lox, cucumber, red onion, and dill bagel sandwich hit the spot. SO delicious.

Lunch was amazing Mediterranean sandwiches I ordered the gyro and Tricia ordered falafel. Both were amazing (yay for friends who like to share!)

We had a snack of seriously delicious homemade ice cream from a little health food shop of the street. I had a lavender honey scoop and a basil scoop- both were incredible!

I got so excited about my wedge salad (and maybe one too many glasses of wine) at a little spot on the wharf called Marengo that I forgot to snap a picture! But this is my breakfast sandwich the next morning from Duboce Park Cafe- also delicious!

When on vacation cream puffs from Pacific Puffs are totally acceptable for lunch, right?

I headed down to San Jose to meet up with my high school friend Jeff and we went straight out to Ethiopian. I love the atmosphere of sitting on little stools and eating with your hands. You might have noticed non-blogger friends aren't very good at waiting for food pictures to be taken before they dig in!

Jeff and I drove down to Capitola, a beautiful little beach town, and had amazing omelets in a tiny little restaurant on the pier. Bay shrimp for breakfast with potatoes? I think yes.

After renting a boat (if you follow my Instagram you may have noticed that I convinced Jeff to shoot a mini yoga photoshoot out on the water for me!), taking a stroll down the beach, and dipping into the pacific we headed back to his house in San Jose for a cheeky trip to Pinkberry!

That evening the boys grilled up some amazing salmon covered in basil and lemon for dinner! The salmon was delicious and I roasted up some of my root veggies from my recipe for a side. That night we sat around a camp fire sipping on Coronas and catching up. (Sorry for the awful picture- we were eating by firelight!)

I may have been really bad and hopped off the train on the way to the airport to grab some In-N-Out before heading home. Double Double with Animal Style fries? SO good, but definitely an 'only on vacation' treat!

Can I be back in Cali please?
