Do It Yourself: Thank You Notes

Hello Darlings!

I am a huge fan of thank you notes. I love writing them, I love reading them, and I absolutely adore receiving them via snail mail. Over the years I have purchased bunches of different ‘thank you’ stationary. While I have liked the designs, I never found an illustration that was quintessentially ‘me.’ So I decided to create my own based on Tinkerbelle’s logo and thought I would share my process with you!

These notes are simple, inexpensive, and quick!

What you’ll need:

- Cardstock Paper
- Stamps and Ink
- Acrylic Paint
- A Foam Paintbrush
- An Exacto Knife
- A Felt-Tipped Pen

First, to create a foldable card fold a piece of the card stock paper in half lengthwise, and then cut the paper in half down the center creating two cards.

To fashion the design you can either sketch your own illustration or print one from your computer. I printed Tinkerbelle’s logo on an extra sheet of cardstock paper to give it more lasting power. Trace over the lines of your picture with the felt pen, making each line in the image thicker. Carefully using your Exacto knife cut out the thickened lines-- essentially you are making your own stencil.

Position the stencil where you would like your image to appear on the thank you note, and using the foam brush, dab the acrylic paint into each cut out line. Let this dry then add your ‘thank you’ stamp. You’re finished. It truly is that simple.

What design would your perfect thank you note have?
