What I Ate Wednesday: Gone Fishy (and Outer Spice Giveaway)

Hello Darlings!

I’ve been on a seafood kick lately. From fish to prawns to sushi, I’ve been loving everything that comes from the ocean (seaweed included!) So I thought I’d share some of my favorites from this past week!

One of the ‘make-it-simple’ ingredients that has been my go-to this past month is the line of spice blends from Outer Spice. I have been insanely busy and barely have time to think, let alone create a spice blend for every meal I eat.

Outer Spice is a line of low-salt or no salt spice blends that are super simple to add to anything and taste great because they are made from ground whole spices! When salt is added it is Himalayan sea salt (my favorite) and it doesn’t overpower the other spices. I love how balanced each blend is, with lots of wonderful ingredients that create a depth of flavor.

The dish that started off my fishy kick was this amazing duo of tuna with edamame and pea shoots, and a giant bowl of ramen with a full prawn from an awesome little hole in the wall in the Highlands of Denver- Uncle. An amazing space with great atmosphere and imported sake, it was a super fun dinner out with the girls!

I used the Original Outer Spice with Himalayan sea salt to add a bit extra to my mahi-mahi en papillote (I love recipes with parchment paper like my Cod en Papillote). Simple, healthy, and delicious!

And because the folks at Outer Spice are wonderful and wanted to support the giveaway countdown to my birthday they are offering two bottles of your choice to one of my lucky readers! US only. Ends 7/30/14
