Salted-Chocolate Dipped Blood Oranges

Hello Darlings!

With Valentine’s Day creeping ever closer some of you might be finishing up your menus for the date night in, or if you’re me just salivating over the giant heart boxes of chocolate that are omnipresent in any room with a cash register. So instead of buy a (rather overpriced) box of chocolates for myself I decided to make my own decadent treat which is not nearly as bad for you: dark chocolate and fruit? Healthy sugar? Yes, please!

Ingredients:

- Dark Chocolate
- Blood Oranges
- Himalayan Pink Sea Salt

Instructions:

1. Peel the blood oranges and remove as much pith (the white stuff) as you deem necessary. Personally, I like the look of the oranges with all of the pith removed so that they are super red, but ended up going with a mix of the two because, I’ll admit, removing it is super time consuming. That and they are just as delicious either way!

2. In a double boiler (or just a heat safe bowl over a pot) bring water to a simmer and pour in your chocolate to melt. I used about a cup of chocolate, but that will depend on how many oranges you plan on dipping!

3. Dip each blood orange wedge in the chocolate and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Sprinkle sea salt on the drying chocolate. I used large chunks because I am a bit of a salt fiend, but even if you sprinkle small granules it will taste fabulous!

5. Let cool completely.

I love how easy these little beauties are to make, with just a few minutes of your time, you have a divine, healthy, dessert that suits Valentine’s Day to a tee! Or, if you’re me you bring them to yoga teacher training and snack on them during lunch-needless to say the whole batch was gone by the time class started up again!

What do you have planned for Valentine’s Day dessert? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
