What I Ate Wednesday: Skinny Limits Juice Cleanse

Hello Darlings!

So, ‘ate’ might be a bit of a stretch here in terms of What I Ate Wednesday, but I was fortunate enough to receive a Three Day Skinny Limits Juice Cleanse for review, which in my mind is SO much better! The 18 juice cleanse (six 16-ounce juices a day for three days) is an incredible way to jumpstart your spring detox, ridding your body of toxins built up over the rather lethargic winter season.

Skinny Limits is different in a wonderful way. All of their juices are all-natural, made from simple, whole ingredients and are cold-pressed- never pasteurized. They are completely raw, so they offer an abundance of nutrients, as they are not cooked off during the pasteurizing process. In Skinny Limits’ own words “Our juice is alive.” Because of this, the box of juice arrives cold, surrounded by ice packs shipped overnight from the Austin, Texas facility.

Now when it comes to juicing often people are put off by the taste. Add a handful too much kale and you have a green juice that tastes like what you might find in the bag of a lawn mower. All four juice recipes in the cleanse I received (the Standard Juice Cleanse) were delicious. Just enough fruit was added for a hint of sweetness. The Standard Juice Cleanse daily juice regimen comes with three Pure and Simple juices, which are your standard fresh green juices as well as a Balance juice that is the green juice with an added kick of ginger.

Also included is a Scorpion Lemonade which is all natural lemonade made of lemons, agave nectar, cayenne, and water which will knock your socks off and rev up your metabolism, and a Crescent Moon which is a ‘dessert’ juice made of raw cashews, vanilla bean, cinnamon, agave nectar and water. I kid you not the Crescent moon tastes like melted ice cream- I couldn’t believe that it was included in a juice cleanse, but was so happy that it was!

I adored this juice cleanse, I felt lighter, more energized and after the first day, complete satisfied and not hungry at all! To be honest, I almost felt overfull at times because I am not used to eating six times a day. I could almost feel the toxins being flushed out of my body, and unfortunately I could see them being expelled as well- I broke out like a teenage boy. However, breakouts during a cleanse are to be expected, just make sure you give your skin time to recover before your next photoshoot! Another nice effect was a shedding of some winter weight; I lost three and a half pounds over the three-day cleanse- bulking season is officially over!
